Magical Weekend

It’s early Sunday evening, August 29, 2021, and I’m reflecting on the amazing time I had with my husband of almost 10 years this weekend.  From cocktails after a long day of work on Friday afternoon, to a dinner of some amazing homemade pizzas, followed by music and conversation well into the evening… to early morning coffee on Saturday, and a trip up to LA for some shopping (we spent too much money but got some great deals!), then back down to Long Beach for “linner” on the water (both marveling at how much cooler and more comfortable it is in Long Beach than in LA)… to Sunday morning coffee and a quick jaunt to the Farmer’s Market and Whole Foods, and a couple of other errands… to a wonderful homemade Sunday dinner, and a couple games of “Skip-Bo,” on the patio afterward… to right now, sitting at the dining room table, together but each doing our own things on our laptops.  But really, it’s not so much about what we did, as much as it is about just being together…. We don’t always see eye-to-eye, and like most couples, we do our share of senseless bickering, but when we factor our egos out of the equation, and really listen to each other, it’s pretty magical.  Feeling pretty good about facing the busy week ahead.
